About the Show

The Peace Regional Air Show Association is a non-profit society and has been successfully hosting air shows since 1990, drawing crowds of thousands from far reaching corners of the region.

2009 affords us the opportunity to set our imagination free in order to bring you this historical celebration, and this is an event you won’t want to miss!  The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will be gracing our skies once again, including a performance with the Canadian built F-86 Sabre jet fighter known as the Hawk One.

This one–of-a-kind special event promises to be an affordable, educational and entertaining activity for families, and will strive to inspire audiences of all ages.  Featuring the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, F-18 Demonstration Team and Golden Centenaries Demonstration:  Hawk One, the 2009 Peace Regional Air Show is sure to be an unforgettable occasion!

To kick things off you can take part in our GO FLY A KITE EVENT at the Tim Hortons’ Soccer Field in Peace River on June 27 starting at 10:00 a.m.  The first 20 kids get a free kite.  Let your imagination fly!

This family friendly air show will be preceded Friday night (July 17) with a special presentation by the CF Snowbirds, open to any and all youth at no charge, in the Peace River airport terminal, from 6 to 7 p.m.  A meet and greet open house will then take place from 7 to 10 at the Peace River airport welcoming the general public.  A BBQ beef supper will be served. The only cost to you is for the meal, and there will be a silent auction for your bidding pleasure.  Since this will be air side, regular air port rules will apply.  Please refer to “air show etiquette”, for full details.

Join us once again for the extravaganza in 2012.
