The number one priority of the event organization is safety, for both spectators and pilots. Therefore, numerous safety measures, including evacuation plans, are put in place in collaboration with Transport Canada, Airport Management, NAV Canada and the Peace Regional Airshow Association to respond efficiently to any potential emergencies. This also includes having an emergency team composed of the Town of Peace River Fire Department, RCMP and EMS/AHS coordinating together and dedicated to the performers safety.
Are there many death happening at air shows?
According to the ICAS (International Council of Airshows), no spectators have died at an air show since the 1950s thanks to the safety measures put in place by various organizations. Among other things, it is forbidden to perform maneuvers towards the crowd, and a regulatory distance must be maintained at all times between aircraft in flight and spectators. However, the risks are greater for pilots. Evaluations are regularly conducted to ensure that they know the maneuvers they must perform by heart.

Consumption of both tobacco and cannabis will be restricted in areas frequented by children and therefore, since the air show is a family-friendly event, there will be no consumption of either on air show grounds as well as along the airport fence on public grounds.
